Rare Caregiver Respite Program
Providing caregivers with relief
If you are a caregiver of a child or adult with a rare disease, you may have access to a special grant from NORD. The Rare Caregiver Respite Program provides financial assistance to enable rare caregivers to have some time away from caregiving. Up to $500 annually may be granted to eligible caregivers to help cover the costs of respite caregiving services.
“Caregivers in the rare disease community spend a significant amount of time, effort and resources helping their loved ones—and they rarely get to take a break,” said Eric Dube, Ph.D., chief executive officer of Retrophin. “This program is designed to show appreciation for caregivers’ generosity.”
The program at NORD was established with support from Retrophin.
